I am eager to teach you and get to know each one of you!
Skills for Success
1. Be Prompt- Be in your seat working on the daily warm-up when the bell rings. 2. Be Respectful- Do not interrupt when others are speaking. Do not make condescending remarks towards others. Please raise your hand if you have a question or comment. If you make a mess, clean up after yourself. 3. Be Prepared- You must bring the required materials to class. 4. Be Productive- Stay on task all day. I start when the bell rings and work until the end of the day. Do not pack up early. I excuse you, not the bell. 5. Be Consistent- Turn in all homework and project assignments at the beginning of the class. 6.Absences- If you are absent, please go to the "Missing Work" chart to find out what you missed. In addition to consulting the chart, I recommend you also ask a reliable source from class. If you know you are going to be absent, please talk to me before hand. I will not come to you to tell you what you missed. It is your job to be responsible and productive about your education.
Expectations
1. I expect you to be respectful to everyone around you-including yourself. 2. I expect you to give your best effort at all times. 3. I expect you to be a responsible student. If you need help, ask questions. 4. I expect you to stay focused and on task the entire period.
Discipline Policy
My job as an educator is to provide an atmosphere where students have an opportunity to increase and share their knowledge in a safe and positive learning environment. Students are rewarded for good behavior. If disciplinary intervention is necessary, the following steps will be taken; Warning Student- Teacher conference (typically at recess time) In-Class Referral to be filled out by student & teacher, signed by the parents and returned the following day. Communication with the parent will continue if the behavior continues. Principal Intervention due to- serious offenses, constant misbehavior, disrespect, or defiance of school rules. It is important for me to have your support in this area. I want to encourage students to confide in me if there is any sort of problem that I am not aware of. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
Grades are based on a percentage. A(100-90%), B(89-80%), C(79-70%), D(69-60%), and F(59 and below). Every student has the opportunity to redo any work once (except tests and projects) for an additional half credit more. This redo work is due the following morning. No redo work will be accepted during the last week of a trimester. Grades can be checked on AERIES at any time.
